Another All Star Snub?
I am terrified that so many basketball enthusiasts have left out such an “incrrredible player” that has been snubbed year in and year out in playing in the NBA All Star game while playing amazing minutes for the Lakers. Perhaps it is because of the “he is not as good as his Dad” labels he has unfairly been dealt with throughout his NBA career, his deal with LA Gear, or because he doesn’t necessarily “feel out a stat sheet”, but we all know that Luke Walton should have been an All Star reserve for 4-5 years in this league.
Even though he averages little over 2 points per game this year, check out his numbers a couple years back!
His 06-07 numbers: 11.4 PPG 5 Rpg, 4.3 Assists 1 steal (47% FG)

New meaning to the term "shooting guard?"
Rough year for Gil. After a couple surgeries and other setbacks, the "Hibachi" was determined to have his comeback season.
Instead, he thought the Washington Wizards were still the Washington Bullets and got handed an "indefinite suspension" from Commissioner Stern. Supposedly, Gil was clowning with one of his teammates over some gambling debts and brought in a couple guns to the arena. All in great humor, of course. That's why the fans love Gil, because his kooky and crazy antics.
Anyways, not trying to bail the guy out. He made a very dumb and costly mistake. It's only a matter of time when he will get another chance.
Wouldn't count him out.

Moving forward!!

We had a great time at Tucson's event at Park Place Mall. The atmosphere was spectacular. DJ spinning hits, kids scaling the climbing wall, juice smoothies, energy drink give-a-ways, and ballers of all ages getting it done on the asphalt.
All of this...in 105+ degree weather. That's right, these players braved scorching heat to play anywhere between 4-7 games in a two day period. I even witnessed fans retreat to their cars, cranking up the AC, and watching games from inside. We had our Hibachi canopy, and several companies brought in their corporate tents, but shade was very limited.
Well, after the success of our first event (bringing in over 35 teams, 150 participants, 1000+ spectators), the Hibachi team is brainstorming possible cities for next years campaign.
We are also planning on future Tucson (and any other city in a desert for that matter) tournaments to take place in the winter months.
Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls, St George and of course Tucson are some of the cities under consideration. Other cities will be looked at as well.
Stay posted...
